The lion's gate could have protected a ruler or king. The animals could have surrounded the gate to provide protection to the palace and kingdom. The white house provides a similar effort today with the President of the United States. Although we do not have animals protecting our President we have armored service agents that are willing to die for our nation. The white house allows protection from outside forces for our leader. In turn the white house symbolizes power and security. If something were to break the white house protection this country would be devastated.
